About Amelia Mulkey

Amelia Mulkey is a filmmaker and director from Venice Beach, California. After earning a degree in Art History from Loyola Marymount University, she apprenticed as a producing director's assistant on Saving Grace, Army Wives, and Lie to Me before founding the San Francisco production company The Clock Factory.

Over the past two decades, Mulkey has directed commercials, music videos, branded films, theater, documentaries, and narrative films. Her clients include Google, Apple, Mozilla, Facebook, and Motorola. She is an award-winning theater director, earning multiple Best Director honors for her work on the Los Angeles stage.

Her films have received recognition including Best Short Film awards for Grief Party, Red, and The Unicorn Girl. Her short film Dashboard Saints was a runner-up for the Kodak/Shore Scripts Short Film Fund, and her debut feature, What Remains Wild, received the Montana Big Sky Film Grant.

Mulkey is drawn to stories rooted in place, propelled by unforgettable performances, and alive with humor, longing, and the beautiful contradictions of being human.
